Travers/2004

I installed my new Travers tub in December 2004. I live on the side of a wooded mountain in Vermont. The tub is located outside on a pressure treated deck I built flush with the surrounding area. Overall, I'm very happy with the tub. Fits well (I wet tested 11 different models from various mfgs before choosing the Travers), no mechanical problems, no leaks, heats efficiently, easy to clean, quiet, and simple to use. I snow blow a path to it in the winter - full moons are incredible. Although the spa has space for 5, i find its tight even with 4. That's largely because there are two loungers and two corner seats, all of which are very comfortable, but take up a lot of space and place people's feet close to one another. The lounger in the corner is my favorite. The two speed motor is not a big deal, I have it either on full power or all the way off so I can listen to the woods. Mine has a gray cabinet and the dark green marblelized interior with stainless steel jet covers. It's very sharp! I have had one issue - carpenter ants. They got in the insulation this summer. I've had to set bait traps and remove all the panels to spray repellent. I'll look again in a couple weeks to see if they are gone for good. Doesn't look like any significant damage was done. I'll probably have to spray the perimeter of the tub every few weeks to keep them away. The Saratoga dealer near Burlington was excellent and filled several tubs for me to try. My father also has a Saratoga, which is now 6 years old and never had a problem. His is inside.
