In Response To: Sundance Spas (-)

I like to say, a hot tub is alot like Van Morrison; it'll make any bad day good.

After buying my tub new in 97, my wife and I have enjoyed our tub, generally speaking, twice every day for the past seven years. Until last November when the pump went, the water froze in the lines and burst the pipes. I'm in Southern Connecticut and our dealer just went out of business so I'm trying to resolve the problems on my own before the snow flies.

I have ripped out all of the sprayed in foam that concealed the plumbing and I'm in the process of installing new manifolds, lines, clamps, and jets. I've never done any plumbing in my life, but because I have the tub standing on end, everything is pretty easy to get at. Today I laid it back down on the ground, filled it, and watched below for signs of dripping. I spotted 4 additional leaks that I was unaware of and will pick up the plumbing supplies tomorry. This is a fairly big job but the cost of the tub was around 6K so, I'm going to see if we can get another 5 years out of it.

I can't blame Sundance for these problems as the tub did run 24 hours a day for 7 years.
