In Response To: Dynasty Spas (-)

When I bought this spa, the dealer told me it was the best spa on the market. I did a little bit of research before I bought, so I sort of believed what he was saying from the research I did. I bought it from F.I.M. It worked flawlessly up until this past winter. I was deployed to Iraq last Spring so my wife was looking over the maintenance and care of the spa. On New Years Eve, my wife found the breaker had tripped on the spa. It was below zero temps and there was at least a foot of snow on the ground. After she got a hold of a third party repairman the following day, he told her to buy some portable ceramic heaters, pop open the access panels and place the heaters next to the pumps (bad advice because that can cause a fire, of which is not covered under your warranty if it were to happen). I happened to be coming home for my 2 weeks of R&R that week, so when I finally got home, I contacted the repairman. He said he wouldn't be able to make it out to my house for another 5 days. So in freezing temps, we were forced to take it up the a$$ and try to keep the plumbing lines from freezing. Being that ALL portable ceramic heaters have a built-in safety feature that faults when the heaters overheat, the heaters we had tucked away in the cabinet of the spa eventually overheated and turned off. This happened overnight and one of the lines froze and busted a line next to one of the pumps. The repairman told me this was my fault and it isn't covered under warranty. Forget the fact that he told me he couldn't come to fix it, and according to him, it was my responsibility to keep the lines from freezing. When the repairman finally showed up, he fiddled with the electrical control box, moving some of the wires around and then told me that he believed the heater was the reason why the breaker was tripping. He said he'd order the part and come back the following week to replace it. He also told me that it would cost me $300 to repair the broken plumbing line. I told him that I didn't care how much it cost to repair the busted line, as long as it got fixed. He told me that it'd be cheaper fo rme to fix it myself but he'd bring the parts out the next week when he came back. Somehow he got the tub running again. He told me to run it at 100 degrees for a while and if it trips again to give him a call. I decided to stop by a local spa dealer to see if they had replacement parts to fix the busted plumbing line. Luckily they did and it only cost me about $25 and about an hour to actually repair the line. A week passed by and nothing was wrong with the tub. I noticed the LEDs weren't working as they were before. Some of the lights were one color while the majority of others were a different color and some of the lights would flicker on and off. A week had passed and I had to return to Iraq. I forgot about the repairman coming back to replace the heater, and about a week after that, I remembered. I asked my wife to give the repairman a call. When she called, he told her that he never ordered the new heater because I never called him back. He said that he wasn't going to replace the heater because if he were to replace it and it turns out not to be a faulty heater, he won't get reimbursed from Dynasty for the heater he bought from them. He also said in the same breath that a faulty heater would be the only cause for the breaker to trip. I have had no luck contacting Corporate Dynasty. This company does not live up to its warranty promises and I am going to sue them for punitive damages. They use third-party repairmen (it says in their warranty that they have their own trained/certified repairment) and their customer service is non-existent). If you wish to buy a spa that you don't mind repairing yourself, then a Dynasty spa is just what you're looking for. I strongly discourage buying any spas from this corporation. They only want your money.
