In Response To: Marquis Spas (-)

Unfortunately we knew nothing about buying or owning a spa. With this first purchase we will never buy another one, and if for some reason we did, it would not be from this company. We had trouble from the very beginning with the spa - valves that did not work, ozonators that were faulty, plastic jet covers that kept falling off and floating away into the filters, etc. We of coarse let the company we bought it from know and they kept doing the repairs during the warrenty period, but the problems kept getting worse. the spa has two flow zones tha have 3 buttons for turning them on and off, but at least one of the buttons would stop working every winter. They claimed it was mice chewing the wires. We had them replace the wires / button at $125 per button many times. We asked what we needed to do to avaoid a repeat. We were told using dryer sheets, mothballs, mouse away, poison, traps, glueboards etc. We tried them all. and nothing worked. The sales man had stated it was for outdoor use, but never said anything about any possible problems from animals. The hot tub was ruined this last winter while we emplyed all countermeasures at the same time and had the worst reactions yet. They chewed through all wires including the power, so it froze up and is ruined. I now have a $8,000 boat anchor. I tried to argue with the company that makes them that it is a design flaw with this unit to be sold for out door use and to still have such huge issues with Mice. He asked if we had a cat. He also said we're the only ones who have this problem, and we must live in a mouse infected area. We live in a very influental part of our city and not out in the country. We do not live next to any marsh or swamp. Houses in our area are $300,000 or more. They will not do anything to help us, in any way, even after he had stated they have changed their design to make them more mouse proof and I asked for a compromise he stated he was not willing to do a thing, and we could sue them if we felt strongly enough about it. So beware when buying Marquis spas, their really nice and helpfull, but if you have an issue outside of the warrenty period, lookout!
